What is Dual Immersion? What are the benefits to a Dual Immersion program? Are there any downsides? How will it affect my child? If you are interested in learning more about the Dual Immersion program, please be sure to attend our Lunch & Learn on Tuesday, February 13th at 11:30am at the Main Campus.

This will be an informative session led by Dr. Margaret McKenzie (Coordinator, Office of ESOL & World Languages, APS). Dual Immersion implementation for Jackson Elementary will be voted on by our GO-Team in the spring, so this is the perfect time to learn more about the program and make sure your questions are answered. If you know other families who are interested in this program (particularly with rising Kindergartners), please encourage them to attend.

Box Tops winter collection is underway. Collect the Box Top symbols found on General Mills products and our school will receive $0.10 for each top submitted. Box Top mailboxes are located in the lobbies of both campuses. Send in your Box Tops by February 23rd.

JAS will make up extracurricular program time missed so that it will not affect the release times of any JAS extracurricular classes. Starting this week, JAS extracurricular classes will begin as close to 3:00pm as possible once school has released and roll has been taken by instructors.

After the APS class day extension period has ended, JAS Extracurricular programs will add 10 minutes on at the front end of class time. This will begin the week of April 9 (after Spring Break) and continue through May 18th. Each session we have a 15 minute buffer built in between school release time and actual extracurricular class start time. JAS will also extend the Winter-Spring 2018 session by an extra week (May 14th- May 18th), adding a full extra day of programming.

Please contact Beth Geurin with any questions.

For regular GO Team updates and to review the meeting minutes, please visit the Jackson  GO TEAM WEBSITE.

Be sure to purchase a WT Jackson Partners Key Tag for $20 and receive 10% off all year long! 100% of card sales go to support our school! You can purchase at Primary or Main Campus or click here to purchase your card.

This year, the PTA has again elected to enroll Jackson into the Atlanta Public Schools Online School Payments (OSP) portal. The OSP is provided to facilitate payment for school fees for a variety of products and services—including Field Trips and other pass through expenses. The system is currently offered to a select number of schools, including Jackson and Morris Brandon. We believe this system will be a convenience and benefit to parents, teachers and administrators. Instructions can be found HERE. If you have any questions, please contact the Main Office or email Astrid Moyer at amoyer@atlanta.k12.ga.us.  Access the portal at http://osp.osmsinc.com/atlanta/.
