NEWS & EVENTS:

EVENING OF THE ARTS & PTA GENERAL MEETING

All are invited to celebrate an Evening of the Arts at Jackson Main Campus on Thursday, May 17th from 5:30-7:00pm at Main Campus. Watch our outstanding Jackson Chorus perform and peruse the student art available for purchase in the cafeteria, which opens at 5:00pm. Artwork will also be hanging throughout the halls, and students are welcome to take art home at the end of the evening.

This year, in addition to the student artwork displays throughout the school, each student’s masterpiece will be framed by Artomé and on display in the cafeteria. Parents may purchase their child’s framed art for $30. A percentage of the sales will benefit Jackson Elementary’s Arts Department. You may also purchase reproductions of your child’s work for friends or family.

You may pre-pay for your child’s frame by sending cash or check ($30 payable to Jackson PTA) to the office by May 15th. Please include your child’s name, grade, and homeroom teacher’s name in the memo.

5th GRADE NEWS AND UPDATES

  • 5th PROMOTION CEREMONY

The Warren T. Jackson 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 23rd at 5:30pm at North Atlanta High School, located at 4111 Northside Parkway NW. The ceremony will be held in the gymnasium and should last approximately one hour, with a short reception and very light refreshments immediately following.  Girls are asked to wear summer dresses (of any color) and the boys are asked to wear coat and tie. You will be receiving more details prior to the ceremony. We are excited to celebrate our 5th grade Jaguars and all of their hard work!

WE ARE SUTTON FOR FUTURE STUDENTS & FAMILIES

It’s time for you to take the next step in joining the Cougar Family!  “We Are Sutton” will be held on THURSDAY May 17th from 6:00-7:30pm. This is your first chance to come to the 6th grade campus with your new classmates and their families. Join us for a great night of school spirit (and some great information) planned just for you!

You will have a chance to get familiar with the 6th grade campus, meet some of the 6th grade teachers, hear the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions, learn about clubs and intramurals, and get your new spirit wear.  We will have food trucks on hand for those who would like to get dinner.

RISING KINDERGARTNERS – Camp Jump Start

The dates have been set for Camp Jump Start — a one-week half-day summer camp that serves as a great way to introduce your rising kindergartner to his/her first year at Jackson.Two sessions will be held this summer: June 4th-8th and June 11th-15th. Students must be fully registered for kindergarten with all necessary forms before registering for Camp Jump Start. Online registration for Camp Jump Start will begin April 27th at 8am. 2018 FRENCH TRIP

Announcing the 2018 French trip to the monuments of PARIS, the canals of Strasbourg, France, and the famous SOUND of MUSIC tour in Salzburg! Open to energetic Smith, Jackson, and E.Rivers 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders and their friends and family, ages 8-88! Departing Atlanta SUMMER 2018– July 9-17 and returning from Munich, with options of going early and staying later. ONLINE PAYMENTS FOR FIELD TRIPS

This year, the PTA has again elected to enroll Jackson into the Atlanta Public Schools Online School Payments (OSP) portal. The OSP is provided to facilitate payment for school fees for a variety of products and services—including Field Trips and other pass through expenses. The system is currently offered to a select number of schools, including Jackson and Morris Brandon. We believe this system will be a convenience and benefit to parents, teachers and administrators. Instructions can be found HERE.
